About the role
The Corporate Services and Major Infrastructure Projects Directorate is responsible for leading and enhancing the Department’s major infrastructure planning and delivery to meet strategic and business needs whilst ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation at a time where the Department is going through a major building program. The Directorate provides high level support and expertise to support Corporate Services and Operational Project Managers in the development and implementation of best practice project management processes and procedures capital works projects.
The Principal Project Manager leads the management of long term and complex projects through both the planning and delivery phases, including resource allocation, to align and support the Justice Strategic Asset Plan. The position is expected to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and work closely with Department of Finance to support the planning and delivery phases of major projects.
Successful applicants may be required to obtain a Working with Children Check as the initial project requires visiting a site involving children.

To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

Subsequent Vacancies
Applicants found suitable but not recommended for this vacancy, may be considered for subsequent similar vacancies in the Department of Justice for a period of twelve (12) months, in accordance with Part 5 (General Appointment) of the Commissioner's Instructions No. 2: Filling a Public Sector Vacancy and Commissioner’s Instructions and No. 39: Interim Arrangements to Fill Public Sector Vacancies. Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered during this period.
