This is a unique chance for a Consultant Orthopaedic
Surgeon to provide high quality surgical care, contribute
meaningfully to the health and wellbeing of rural community, and

We currently have 1.0 FTE available offering Full Time,
Permanent or Fixed Term opportunities. Fixed Term roles may include
options for extension and/or transition to permanency.
Consultant Year 1–9: $412,161 – $523,436 per annum,
inclusive of base salary, 12% superannuation, and Professional
Development allowance.
The above salary is as per WA Health System Medical
Practitioners AMA Industrial Agreement 2024 (inclusive of base
Salary, 12% superannuation, and professional development
allowance). This is subject to the assessment of qualifications,
clinical skills, and years of practice.
About The Role
As an orthopaedic surgeon, you will perform clinical duties and
provide patient care within the predefined scope of practice
including onsite consultation, emergency services, outpatient
clinics, operations and procedures.
The position provides clinical oversight, support and advice to
medical practitioners in the field of orthopaedics, whilst also
overseeing the training of Registrars, Resident Medical Officer and
Interns.
Additionally, you will participate in programs to ensure safety
and quality of orthopaedic services including audits, incident
reviews and clinical practice improvement projects.

The Successful Candidates Will:
- Hold specialist registration with the Medical Board of
Australia without restrictions.
- Hold Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of
Surgeons (RACS) Orthopaedic.
- Substantial clinical experience relevant to Orthopaedic
Surgery
- SIMG applicants must hold a valid specialist assessment
outcome from the relevant college, with up to 12 months of
required supervision, prior to applying.

Albany Health Campus is a modern 130-bed hospital
serving 80,000 residents in Albany and the Great Southern
Region. A new 32 bed ward is scheduled for completion in early
2027. It functions as a regional resource centre and
secondary referral hospital, handling over 30,000 acute
presentations annually in its Emergency Department. The
hospital's medical services include a growing general medicine
department with an integrated HomeSafe program, bridging
acute care and community services. General Medicine features a mix
of Physicians and Rural Generalists, supported by junior medical
staff and training registrars. The hospital also offers specialized
services in medical oncology, radiation oncology, subacute care,
and palliative care, with a high dependency unit managed by
rotating specialists.
