This is a Permanent Part-Time appointment contracted to work 45.6 hours per fortnight.

We currently have 0.6 (Full-Time equivilant) positions available.

In November 2024, Next Step Services transitioned into the Royal Perth Bentley Group (RPBG) Hospital Logistics and Acute Access Division (HoLAA) within the East Metropolitan Health Service.

Eligibility to Apply: To be eligible for appointment, applicants must be a permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia.
 
Other Conditions:  WA Health engages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. WA Health policies require applicants to undertake a criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. As well as undertaking a criminal record screening and integrity checking, you may also be required to undertake a working with children check (if required for the role) and a pre-employment health assessment. We may ask referees to comment on your integrity and past demonstration of ethical behaviour. Please note that adverse information does not necessarily disqualify an applicant but will be considered as part of the appointment process.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.


Position Profile: The Nurse Practitioner – Next Step Services provides an advanced clinical service working both autonomously and in collaboration with other health professionals to diagnose, treat and manage a patient’s health status in accordance with National legislation. The Nurse Practitioner performs advanced physical assessment, orders diagnostic tests, interprets the results of these tests, initiates referrals to relevant health providers, and prescribes appropriate medications and other therapies as needed. The Nurse Practitioner provides clinical leadership and consultancy to medical, nursing and allied health care professionals within Next Step Services. The Nurse Practitioner practices within their scope of practice considerate of the Nursing and Midwifery Board’s Nursing Practice Decision Flowchart.

The East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS) comprises an extensive hospital and health service network that aims to maintain and improve the health and wellbeing of more than 670,000 Western Australians in its catchment area.

  • An onsite pharmacy service based at East Perth
  • Outpatient and inpatient youth services via the Integrated Drug and Alcohol Youth Service. Community programs including the Community Pharmacotherapy Program and the Clinical Advisory Service.
