Part-Time appointment contracted to work 45.6 hours per
fortnight.

Group (RPBG) Hospital Logistics and Acute Access Division (HoLAA)
within the East Metropolitan Health
Service.
Eligibility to
Apply: To be eligible for appointment, applicants must be
a permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely
in Australia.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to
fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar"
vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this,
should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised

from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period
of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses

Position
Profile: The Nurse Practitioner – Next Step Services
provides an advanced clinical service working both autonomously and
in collaboration with other health professionals to diagnose, treat
and manage a patient’s health status in accordance with National
legislation. The Nurse Practitioner performs advanced physical
assessment, orders diagnostic tests, interprets the results of
these tests, initiates referrals to relevant health providers, and
prescribes appropriate medications and other therapies as needed.
The Nurse Practitioner provides clinical leadership and consultancy
to medical, nursing and allied health care professionals within
Next Step Services. The Nurse Practitioner practices within their
scope of practice considerate of the Nursing and Midwifery Board’s
Nursing Practice Decision Flowchart.
Area Profile: The East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS)
comprises an extensive hospital and health service network that
aims to maintain and improve the health and wellbeing of more than
670,000 Western Australians in its catchment area.
Our hospital
network works together to provide a combination of tertiary,
secondary and specialist health care services including emergency
and critical care, state trauma, elective and emergency surgery,
general medical, mental health, inpatient and outpatient services,
aged care, palliative care, rehabilitation and women’s, children’s
and neonates services.

Services at six metropolitan locations

Inpatient Withdrawal Unit at East Perth
- An
onsite pharmacy service based at East Perth
- Outpatient and inpatient
youth services via the Integrated Drug and Alcohol Youth

Pharmacotherapy Program and the Clinical Advisory
