THE OPPORTUNITY
Are you passionate about turning data into meaningful insights that influence road safety behaviour changes?
The Road Safety Commission is seeking a Data Scientist to contribute to the development and implementation of data science services across various business areas.
THE ROLE
The Data Scientist supports the Manager, Data Analytics and will play a pivotal role in influencing operational and tactical outcomes by designing, building and deploying robust data solutions to improve Road Safety behaviour across Western Australia.

Pay and Leave
- Employer contribution of 12% superannuation in addition to your salary.
- 20 days of annual leave (pro rata for part time).
- Annual leave loading payment in December of each year.
- 13 weeks (pro rata) paid long service leave for every seven years of consecutive service.
- 15 days personal leave each year (pro rata for part time).
- 3 days public service holiday.
- 14 weeks paid parental leave after 12 months of continuous service.

- A comprehensive and up to date Curriculum Vitae (CV), including contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on your ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work-Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.
- A covering letter (2 pages maximum) addressing the following work related requirements. Please provide examples to support your claims.
- Knowledge of descriptive and predictive analytics – Implementing data science practices and techniques. Developing advanced data analytics practices. Building statistical models or complex algorithms and implementing tools to meet operational and tactical needs.
- Conceptual and analytical skills – Conceptualising and analysing trends, patterns and issues to provide advice and evidence-based recommendations. Developing solutions to highly complex problems requiring an understanding of data science techniques.
- The attached Integrity Consent Form (Not required for current WA Police Force employees)
