Eligibility to
Apply: To be eligible for appointment, applicants must
have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an
Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and
work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent
appointments).
Other
Conditions: WA Health engages staff in positions of
trust and responsibility. WA Health policies require applicants to
undertake criminal records screening and integrity checking as part
of the appointment process. Referees may also be asked to comment
on an applicant’s integrity and past demonstration of ethical
behaviour.
Suitable applicants will be
placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar
vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until
30/06/2026.
Whilst this selection
process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may
also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the
health service. In addition to this, should the successful
applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next
most suitable applicant may also be selected from this
process.
Position
Profile: On behalf of the Department of Health, the
Licensing Accreditation and Regulatory Unit is responsible for the
regulation of private health facilities in accordance with the
Private Hospitals and Health Services Act 1927 and the Human
Reproductive Technology Act 1991. Working with the wider LARU team,
the Principal Consultant is responsible for identifying and
addressing key licensing risks and priorities, supporting
continuous improvement of licensing standards and regulatory
frameworks, and providing authoritative advice on policy matters.
The role contributes to the strategic direction of the Patient
Safety and Clinical Quality Directorate. To meet operational needs,
the successful applicant will be required to work flexibly across
multiple teams within the Licensing and Accreditation Regulatory
Unit including filling comparable positions within other teams in
the LARU.
