About our Occupational Therapy Team Based at Perth Children’s Hospital, our dedicated team provide a statewide service to children aged 0–16 years, including inpatients (as part of a multi-disciplinary team of health professionals) and outpatients through medical clinics, and OT led clinics. Through assessment and consultation with the child and their family, we aim to help young people achieve age-appropriate levels of independence. We are committed to maximising a child’s potential through building and recovering skills and strategies that enable participation and engagement in everyday activities and adapt to each child’s age, developmental needs, illness, injury, or disability we evaluate sensory, cognitive, motor, and social-emotional skills. Working across post-surgical, rehabilitation, neurodevelopmental interventions, and transitions, we support patients during their journey back home and to school. This includes outpatient follow-ups, transition to adult care, liaison with regional patients via Telehealth, and collaboration with other Health Service Providers, CAHS services, child development services, and community agencies.
