We are looking for enthusiastic Senior Registrars and Fellows to
join our dedicated team at Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group
(FSFHG), Department of Anaesthesia, Pain and Perioperative
Medicine.

Position Profile:
The South Metropolitan Health Service
(SMHS) provides hospital and community-based public health services
to nearly a quarter of WA’s population as well as supporting WA
Country Health Service patients from the Great Southern, Southern
Wheatbelt and Goldfields regions. Our hospital network provides
services that include the renowned adult burns service, emergency
care and heart, lung and renal transplants.
The
Anaesthesia, Pain and Perioperative Medicine department invites
applications for our 2027 Senior Registrar, General and Specialty
Fellowship positions. Our Senior Registrars and Fellows are
responsible for the Anaesthetic management and Perioperative care
of patients undergoing surgical and other procedures at Fiona
Stanley and Fremantle Hospitals. In addition, our Senior Registrars
and Fellows supervise our Junior Registrar cohort under the
direction of a nominated Consultant Anaesthetist.

Our
Specialty Anaesthetic Fellowship positions are designed to give
in-depth training over a 12-month period. Our General Fellowships
are available for either 6 or 12 months duration, with scope for
requesting lists in areas of interest. We also offer part-time
General Fellowships.
Please
note:
The
Simulation Fellowship is 6 months duration and is combined with 6
months General Fellowship. The Vascular Fellowship is 6 months
duration and can be combined with 6 months General Fellowship. The
Obstetric fellowship is available for either 6 or 12 months
duration and can be combined with 6 months General
Fellowship.
If
you have not successfully completed your Final ANZCA examination or
equivalent at the time of commencement of the role, you are only
eligible to apply for a senior registrar position.
The
roster comprises 40 hours per week, including approximately 25%
after-hours commitment in both general and obstetric anaesthesia.
Please note: the Cardiothoracic Fellowship has a 1 in 4
out-of-hours commitment to cardiothoracic anaesthesia, without
requirement to cover general/obstetric anaesthesia.

(FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range
of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a
comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit,
maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult
Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart
and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.
Fremantle Hospital (FH) is a 300-bed specialist
hospital focused on providing high-quality aged care, mental
health, secondary rehabilitation, planned surgeries and medical
services.

the following selection criterion (no more than 2
pages):

EC1 - Eligible
for registration by the Medical Board of
Australia.

EC2 -
Provisional fellow and above with the Australian and
New Zealand College of Anaesthetists or equivalent
Overseas Authority at commencement of
employment.

EC3 -
Demonstrated with examples experience, ability, and
ongoing commitment to teaching and
education.
-
EC7 -
Demonstrated with examples active participation in
continuing medical education activities and ability to
learn from clinical experience and feedback
-
The names and contact details of two (2) current referees who
can attest to your suitability for this
role.
