THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The Corruption and Crime Commission is a leading anti-corruption agency whose purpose is to expose and disrupt corruption, serious misconduct and organised crime. The Commission works to give the WA community confidence that public officers act in the public interest.
The Assessment and Oversight Directorate is a multi-functional team working collaboratively across the Commission and the Western Australian (WA) government sector through its assessment, oversight, and research and engagement functions. The Directorate assesses and manages the receipt of allegations, oversees action taken by WA public sector agencies into alleged serious misconduct and conducts research and analysis to inform Commission priorities and assist the public sector to mitigate serious misconduct.
THE OPPORTUNITY
These exciting and challenging positions present an opportunity to join the Commission's Assessments and Oversight teams within the Assessments and Oversight Directorate.
The Assessments Team is responsible for receiving and assessing notifications of serious misconduct in accordance with the Corruption, Crime and Misconduct Act 2003 (CCM Act) and the Commission's strategic and operational priorities and making recommendations to determine how each matter should be dealt with.
The Assessor and Enquiry Officers play a crucial role in researching, analysing information and determining jurisdiction in relation to allegations of serious misconduct. They prepare comprehensive assessments reports and make recommendations for further action by the Commission.
The Oversight Team is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the investigations and/or other actions taken by appropriate authorities in response to allegations of serious misconduct, in accordance with the CCM Act.
The Oversight Officer plays a vital role in monitoring the action taken by WA Government agencies in response to allegations of serious misconduct. They receive and analyse investigation reports, consider the adequacy of action taken and make recommendations for further action, if required.
In these interesting and diverse roles, position holders will have the opportunity to:
- Conduct analysis of allegations of serious misconduct;
- Interpret and apply legislation, policy and procedure;
- Produce reports and make recommendations in line with Commission strategic and operational priorities;
- Actively engage with stakeholders involved in the notification and assessment of allegations of serious misconduct.
