Collectively, SMHS has over 12,000 staff and a $2.9 billion budget, with a service area stretching more than 3,300 square kilometres in the southern half of Perth and across Western Australia via our statewide services. 

We are seeking an inspirational, committed and experienced Director Organisational Development to join our SMHS team. The successful applicant will lead and direct a team of dedicated professionals responsible for the strategy, planning and delivery of health service wide programs that build organisational capability and shape our culture to achieve SMHS strategic priorities and reinforce our values and ways of working. They will lead the development and implementation of strategies and plans to grow a sustainable workforce, build our leadership capability, optimise and promote strong employee engagement as well as cultivating a high-performing learning organisation and a supportive, inclusive, diverse and equitable culture.

Advancing collaboration across the SMHS hospital and health service network is a priority for SMHS. To enable this shift in strategic focus, SMHS is on an exciting journey to become a world-class leader in continuous health care improvement. Our partnership with international health care leaders Virginia Mason Institute is helping us build our own unified, future-focused system that empowers every member of SMHS to contribute to excellence.

The SMHS Director of Organisational Development will champion the SMHS Improvement Method to create a shared way of learning and leading that is underpinned by SMHS being Collectively One, Locally Led.

Are you eligible? To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).
