About the role: The Mortuary Manager
–Non‑Coronial Service is responsible for the leadership,
operational management, and professional standards of the
hospital’s adult non‑coronial mortuary services. This role ensures
the safe, respectful, and lawful management of deceased persons in
accordance with relevant legislation, organisational protocols, and
best‑practice mortuary standards.
The position works closely with pathologists, clinicians,
bereavement staff, external service providers, and families to
ensure sensitive handling of remains and timely coordination of
non‑coronial post-mortem examinations. The role also provides
expert guidance, training, and oversight to mortuary personnel to
maintain a high standard of technical expertise, infection control,
and professional conduct.
