About the Role

Tenure: Permanent full-time

Science and Innovation, Industry and Corporate Capability builds the State’s capacity through targeted support, fostering innovation and industry capability and ensures effective and efficient administration of DEED’s financial assistance and equity programs and business support functions.

As our Principal Policy Officer you will play an important role in DEED’s Future Science Capability Directorate working to implement the State STEM skills strategy mission update and build a strong and diverse pipeline of science, technology engineering and mathematics (STEM) talent for Western Australia’s future. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and continuation of some of Western Australia’s significant scientific engagement organisations such as Scitech and the Perth Observatory.

The successful applicant will have experience developing and implementing strategies, managing complex projects in a dynamic and busy work environment, building productive relationships with stakeholders and being able to provide clear, evidence based advice that is aligned with government priorities. As a senior member of the team you will also have the opportunity to mentor and support the development of other team members.
