The Waterways Safety and Management branch leads the behaviour‑change and compliance programs that keep WA’s navigable waters safe. We deliver targeted safety education, and work closely with communities and industry to encourage and enforce responsible use of our waterways. It’s hands‑on, collaborative work with real impact, backed by a friendly culture and opportunities to contribute across Maritime projects. It’s all done in partnership—with State, Commonwealth, local authorities, industry and the community—in a supportive, flexible environment where people collaborate across specialist teams and build capability to make a visible difference.
The Opportunity
Make a real difference by leading specialist compliance and investigation support in Western Australia’s maritime environment.
As Team Leader Compliance Support Services, you’ll lead a specialist team coordinating compliance, investigations and prosecution activities within the Maritime Directorate. You’ll oversee high‑quality prosecution briefs, provide expert advice on complex regulatory matters, and help shape best‑practice policies and systems that support fair, consistent enforcement outcomes.

- Brings strong experience preparing and reviewing prosecution briefs.
- Understands WA maritime industries and legislation and applies this knowledge confidently.

- Leads a small team, balancing workloads and encouraging high‑quality, consistent outcomes.
- Takes a practical, solutions‑focused approach to compliance and investigation support.
