About the role
As a Project Finance Business Partner, you will provide expert financial support and strategic advice to the project community, helping to strengthen project accounting practices and deliver high-quality financial reporting across Main Roads’ infrastructure programs.
Partnering closely with project managers, finance teams, and directorates, you will analyse financial data, monitor project performance, and deliver actionable insights that support effective cost control, accurate forecasting, and informed decision-making.
This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with strong analytical capability and experience in project accounting, ideally within complex project or infrastructure environments, to contribute to the successful delivery of major programs.
Some of the key responsibilities:
- Partner with Directorates and collaborate with Management Accounting, Budget and Program Management teams to support project financial management.
- Participate in internal working groups to support and improve Enterprise Project Management (EPM) reporting.
- Support project financial management including cost control, contract accruals, budgeting, forecasting and reporting aligned with the Corporate Financial Performance Reporting Cycle.
- Provide specialist financial advice to the project community and PMO, identifying trends and opportunities to improve project financial outcomes.
- Identify and resolve financial data and information integrity issues with relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct financial analysis and project health checks to monitor project performance.
- Analyse project financial and statistical data and present clear insights to support management decision-making.
