*The above salary is
as per WA Health System Medical Practitioners AMA Industrial
Agreement 2024 (inclusive of base salary, PD allowance and 12%
superannuation). This is subject to the assessment of
qualifications, clinical skills and years of
practice.

Specialist Hub (WISH)
The WACHS Infant, Child and
Adolescent Mental Health Services (ICAMHS) Specialist Hub known as
WISH is a statewide specialist service designed in response to the
ICA Taskforce recommendations. Our goal is to enhance access to
high quality, specialist mental health care for children and young
people aged 0–18 living across regional and remote Western
Australia.
Operating as a virtual
extension of local ICAMHS teams, WISH delivers specialist
assessment, treatment, intervention, consultation and review, and
working alongside regional clinicians as a remote member of the
care team.

plays a vital role in building capability across the regional
ICAMHS workforce. We strengthen clinical networks, support
professional development, and promote sustainable, trauma informed

About The
Roles
In this role of
Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be a value
member of the team and will be responsible for:
- In
collaboration with regional ICAMHS teams, the provision of
clinical assessment and psychiatric treatment for children aged
between 0-18 years of age and their families, within a
sub-specialty area.
- Provide
expert leadership, advice, and consultation to GPs, healthcare
professionals, service providers, and carers across the
region.
- Build
strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including the Chief
Psychiatrist and local GPs, to deliver seamless, coordinated
care.
- Contribute to the
development of mental health services and participate in
planning, implementation, and evaluation processes.
- May also
provide acting support to the Head of Service during periods of
leave or absence
In the role of Head
of Service WISH, you will report to the Director of
Psychiatry, ICAMHS and will provide senior leadership across the
WISH Program. The role may also provide acting support to the
Director of Psychiatry ICAMHS as required.

The Successful
Candidates will:
- Be
eligible for registration by the Medical Board of Australia as
a specialist in psychiatry.
- Be
eligible for fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand
College of Psychiatrists or approved equivalent. Has completed
(or is about to complete) the Advanced Certificate in Child and
Adolescent Psychiatry from the Royal Australian and New Zealand
College of Psychiatrists or approved equivalent.
- Have
extensive clinical experience in infant, child and adolescent
mental health.
To be eligible for a
permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector, it
is essential that you are an Australian citizen or hold permanent
residency status in Australia.

About the Pool and
Appointment
This pool accepts
applications from RANZCP Trainees who are in their penultimate year
of training and have completed all training requirements. This is
an active recruitment pool which will be assessed on a regular
basis by the panel to fill both immediate vacant positions and
future vacancies.
Please note that after
filling the current vacancies, all suitable applicants will be
placed in the pool for future appointments. Appointments may be
made from this pool until 30/06/2026.
