Position Profile: Clinical Engineers are required to join the team responsible for engineering support of the medical technology used in hospital practice.  Responsibilities are varied and will include project management for the introduction of new and replacement technology, assessment of medical equipment and the improvement of service delivery.  A good knowledge of computing and networking systems is highly desirable.

Successful applicants may be invited to join a team in the Clinical Engineering Division of the Heath Technology Management Unit (HTMU) to provide backfill and project support during the Mount Lawley Hospital Transition, Royal Perth Hospital S Block Development, Bentley Health Service Surgicentre, Peel Health Campus Redevelopment, and other medical systems projects. Applicants may also be invited to join the Technical Services Division of HTMU to assist with medical equipment life-cycle management.

Applicants require a Bachelors Degree specialising in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics or a similar relevant discipline. Prior experience in the provision of Clinical Engineering services or knowledge of medical equipment and medical ICT systems is desirable but not essential, however, the applicant must demonstrate a keen interest in the management of medical technology and be able to demonstrate an ability to work within a team.  Good problem-solving skills and high level written and verbal communications skills are essential.
