WA Health embraces diversity and is committed to eliminating all forms of discrimination in the provision of our service.

WA Health supports flexible working practices within the context of a quality health service. WA Health is committed to a smoke free environment across all buildings, grounds and vehicles.

WA Health is committed to growing the Aboriginal workforce as a part of WA Health’s Aboriginal Workforce Policy.  As a measure to achieve equality, Section 51 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 applies to this position.  Aboriginal people are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility to Apply: To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).

Position Profile: The Information and System Performance Directorate (ISPD) in the Department of Health is seeking an experienced person for role of Senior Project Officer within the Data Linkage Strategy team of the Data and Information Systems business unit.

As Senior Project Officer you will:

  • Develop, manage and deliver a portfolio of strategic projects undertaken as part of the WA Health Data Linkage Strategy and Reform program by providing accurate and timely advice on project progress, emerging risks and issues, and leveraging resources to maximise efficiencies while also providing necessary expertise in communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies and tools for the continuous monitoring and evaluation of project and program-level risks and mitigation actions to safeguard delivery of the defined business outcomes.
  • Provide progress reports related to the delivery of projects and/or initiatives to stakeholder groups.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to maintain business knowledge and understand priorities and effectively liaise, consult, negotiate and collaborate to achieve these.

We may ask referees to comment on your integrity and past demonstration of ethical behaviour. Please note that adverse information does not necessarily disqualify an applicant but will be considered as part of the appointment process.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process.
