Vacancy Reference No. 720875

Lead capital works and strategic infrastructure initiatives that directly support the delivery of safe, high-quality healthcare for children and young people across Western Australia.

This is Permanent Full Time Position

About the Role

The Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) is seeking an experienced leader to join our team as Infrastructure Program Manager.

In this hands-on role, you will lead a team of Senior Project Managers and multidisciplinary professionals and oversee planning and delivery of a portfolio of complex, high-impact infrastructure projects across CAHS with a focus on supporting and enabling high-quality paediatric care.

You will manage the full project lifecycle, from early concept development and business case preparation through to delivery, commissioning, and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in alignment with clinical and operational priorities.

Working closely with executives, clinicians and external partners, you will coordinate program workstreams including planning, risk management, workforce coordination and change management. You will also contribute to key governance forums, where your ability to influence, negotiate, and navigate complex discussions will be essential.

Some projects are delivered in a live healthcare environment, requiring strong stakeholder engagement and careful consideration of impacts on patients, families and staff. Success in this role is measured not only by project completion, but by ensuring operational teams’ transition seamlessly into new or upgraded facilities without disruption to patient care.

Current projects include:

  • Medical Imaging Equipment Replacement Program (MERP) inclusive of imaging infrastructure
  • External cladding remediation works
  • Acute Mental Health Ward redesign

We are seeking a leader with operational experience in complex infrastructure projects in highly regulated environments who can build a cohesive, adaptable team responsive to shifting project demands.

About Our Team

Our team leads and delivers health infrastructure projects to enhance clinical services for the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS), now and in the future.

We take pride in ensuring facilities are safe, contemporary, and support high-quality patient care. Projects are planned and forecasted through our Infrastructure Program, aligned with the CAHS Strategic Asset Plan, to meet current and future infrastructure needs and deliver the best outcomes for children and their families.

Some projects are delivered in live environments, requiring close coordination with facilities management, emergency management, infection prevention, digital health, occupational safety teams, support services as well as clinical teams to manage disruptions and ensure smooth delivery. We value consumer feedback and incorporate considerations for Aboriginal health and wellbeing, inclusion, and health equity in line with CAHS strategic objectives.
