Vacancy Reference No. 720663

We currently have one full time vacancy until 30 June 2029 with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

The Opportunity:
There has never been a more exciting time to work in the Intergovernmental Relations and Community Programs Directorate at the WA Department of Health.

A focus on wide-ranging and high-profile national system reforms across aged care, disability and health have created opportunities for the WA Health system to bring about changes that positively impact the health outcomes for our most vulnerable West Australians.

The Community Programs team designs and delivers strategic programs at the interface of the hospital system and aged care, disability and broader health and community service systems, including programs that support timely discharge from hospital.

We are seeking applications from talented individuals eager to work in a team environment that is agile, dynamic and focused on delivering positive outcomes and change across a range of portfolios.

We are seeking people who have proven experience in delivering strategic projects, managing teams and are experienced in stakeholder engagement.

Position Description
The Manager will lead the delivery of strategic projects and community programs to achieve project outcomes related to the discharge of long stay patients and will support the achievement of organisational objectives.

Eligibility to Apply:  To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).

We value the unique diversity of experience that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders peoples, people with disability and people from culturally diverse backgrounds bring to our workforce.

WA Health is committed to growing the Aboriginal workforce as a part of WA Health’s Aboriginal Workforce policy. As a measure to achieve equality, Section 51 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1985 applies to this position. Aboriginal people are encouraged to apply.

Other Conditions:  WA Health engages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. WA Health policies require applicants to undertake criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. Referees may also be asked to comment on an applicant’s integrity and past demonstration of ethical behaviour.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.

Employee Benefits:  In addition to the great salary our employees enjoy an amazing range of benefits which may include (in line with operational requirements):
•    12% employer contributed superannuation into a fund of your choice. For further information click here.
