About the
Gender Diversity Service:
Gender Diversity Service (GDS) is a specialist
outpatient service that offers an affirming approach to support
gender diverse young people and their families. GDS is the only
specialist service in WA providing multi-disciplinary specialist
assessment and access to gender affirming medical care for young
people in WA.
The GDS also has a well-established Research
program and works in partnership with The University of Western
Australia and The Kids Institute.

About the
Role:
We are seeking a Research Officer to join our
team who reports to Clinical Nurse Manager - Research and provides
support to the Senior Research Officer/s in research activities and
longitudinal studies within the service. This work will
assist in implementing evidence-based clinical care with the aim to
achieve positive outcomes for young people. As the Research
Officer, you will assist researchers and clinicians in recruitment
of young people and families to participate in GDS Research Cohort
and support the planning and execution of clinical trial activities
in line with GCP and ethical guidelines, including coordination and
reporting. Additionally, you will:
- Conduct literature and systematic reviews.
- Support implementation of CAMHS research and evaluation
projects by undertaking data collection and management.
- Contribute to data analysis and interpretation.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, publications, grants,
and presentations.
- Consult and work with key stakeholders, including service
providers, consumers, and carers
What you will
bring:
- Undergraduate degree in health sciences or relevant field
of study. In particular, this role would suit applicants with
psychology or public health qualifications
- Experience conducting applied research in a health
setting
- Demonstrated research skills, including the conduct of
literature and systematic reviews and statistical analyses
- Well-developed interpersonal and written communication
skills, including report writing skills
- Good time management skills and the ability to work with
minimum supervision
- Demonstrated ability with computing software, including
Microsoft Office Products and statistical packages (e.g., SPSS,
R)

Eligibility to Apply: To be eligible for

of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses
