Carson Street School (CSS) is the state’s only Education Support Primary School, and it educates early childhood and Primary aged students with moderate, severe and profound multiple disabilities often with comorbid medical conditions and sensory impairments. All have communication difficulties and most are non-verbal. All students require highly differentiated curriculum, specialist teaching and learning programs, assistive technology and extensive adult support to access their learning programs and to provide daily living requirements.

Our specialist Conductive Education program attracts enrolments from across the metropolitan area. Communication is a major focus at CSS with students using various forms of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) including Pragmatic Organisation Dynamic Display (PODD).

The Role

The successful applicant should help support the technology that keeps learning and daily operations running smoothly at Carson Street School. You’ll play an important role in maintaining and developing our Information technology (IT) systems so students and staff can access the tools they need with ease.

We’re looking for someone who ideally has experience working with IT systems and equipment, can spot issues early, and enjoys finding practical solutions. This includes Promethean panels and AAC devices. Knowledge of Compass, Seesaw, would be a great advantage.

In this role, you’ll also work closely with the Manager Corporate Services, offering advice on Information and Communications Technology (ICT) maintenance and planning for future upgrades. You’ll assist with installing, configuring, and updating IT systems, and help us keep accurate records of our digital resources and equipment.

This position is ideal for someone who is proactive, approachable, and committed to providing high‑quality IT support that makes a meaningful difference in a special needs school environment.
