About you

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Senior Project Officer - Lived Experience.

You will bring a strong understanding of the Lived Experience (Peer) workforces and demonstrate the ability to work strategically and effectively in a leadership role to strengthen and embed lived experience practice across the mental health, suicide prevention, and alcohol and other drug sectors.

You will be able to work collaboratively, reflectively and be skilled at providing high-quality insight and advice to inform organisational policy, initiatives and system improvement.

About the role

The Senior Project Officer (Lived Experience) draws on personal or carer/significant other lived experience to strengthen the design, delivery and evaluation of mental health, alcohol and other drug and suicide prevention initiatives across the Commission. The role leads and supports projects, policy development and stakeholder engagement activities that genuinely reflect lived experience perspectives, promote trauma-informed and culturally safe practice, and contribute to ongoing system improvement.

As a member of the Lived Experience Development team, the position works collaboratively across the Commission and with external partners to embed Lived Experience leadership in planning, governance and service development. The role provides high-quality advice, project management, training, education and communication to support the Commission’s strategic priorities.
