Your new role

The Corporate Services Directorate of the Department of Health is seeking to appoint a motivated and dynamic Senior Business Intelligence Analyst.

You will be joining the Business Strategy and Policy team that supports the department to apply good governance principles, processes and practices that are fit for purpose and that meet accountability obligations and enables high level organisational performance. 

The team consists of a diverse skill mix and the work environment is dynamic with a strong emphasis on teamwork, collective wisdom and collaboration to achieve outcomes. Individually, we actively support each other and create environments where people feel respected, included and supported to contribute their best.

 This is a permanent full time appointment responsible for:

  • Co-ordinating and undertaking high level research and analysis of business intelligence data to support organisational monitoring and performance reporting.
  • Leading and coordinating the design, development and construction of reports and dashboards.
  • Appling highly advanced data integration and interrogation skills using various system applications including Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Undertaking high level data analysis, forecasting and scenario analysis pertaining to business intelligence data.
  • Contributing to recommendations that inform the decision-making in relation to business intelligence.
  • Manages the delivery of corporate and operational reporting including providing management and stakeholders with detailed analysis and reports to assist the organisation to make informed decisions.

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  1. Demonstrated experience in the delivery and management of data analytics and reporting solutions in a variety of contexts.
  2. Demonstrated experience in the reporting of data from complex information systems/sources using advanced modelling and design skills, including analysis technologies and methodologies within a Microsoft environment.
  3. Demonstrated high level conceptual, analytical and strategic problem solving skills.
  4. Developed interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate, liaise and consult with a range of stakeholders in various contexts.
  5. Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, monitoring and evaluation.
