We are currently seeking an
experienced Business Support Officer to provide executive and
business support to the Director and support the smooth operation
of the Population and Preventive Health Directorate.
This is a newly created role
within the Population and Preventive Health Directorate. This
Directorate plays a pivotal role in setting the vision and
strategic direction for statewide policy in chronic disease and
injury prevention, driving delivery on government policy and
reforms, and fostering alliances for preventive health. The
Directorate also commissions and funds several statewide population
health promotion programs on issues such as obesity, nutrition,
physical activity, smoking and injury.
The Business Support Officer
will undertake administrative functions and projects which
contribute to effective business processes and procedures within
the Directorate, and develop, coordinate and maintain efficient
financial and information management systems.
What we are looking
for:
To be successful in this
role, you will need to show through your application:
- Excellent organisational
and time management skills.
- Sound
knowledge of administrative procedures and purchasing protocols
and invoicing procedures.
- The
ability to write and edit material suitable for diverse
audiences in a simple, concise style, and strong attention to
detail.
- Effective interpersonal
and communication skill, including the ability to exercise
discretion and maintain confidentiality as
required.
- Well-developed Microsoft
Office skills.
Eligibility to
Apply: To be eligible for appointment, applicants must
have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an
Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and
work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent
appointments).
Other
Conditions: WA Health engages staff in
positions of trust and responsibility. WA Health policies require
applicants to undertake a criminal records screening and integrity
checking as part of the appointment process. As well as undertaking
a criminal record screening and integrity checking, you may also be
required to undertake a working with children check (if required
for the role) and a pre-employment health assessment. We may ask
referees to comment on your integrity and past demonstration of
ethical behaviour. Please note that adverse information does not
necessarily disqualify an applicant but will be considered as part
of the appointment process.
Whilst this selection
process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may
also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the
health service. In addition to this, should the successful
applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next
most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process.
Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12)
months from when the authorised delegate endorses the
recruitment decision.
