About the opportunity:
We are seeking enthusiastic Senior Road Planning Officers (x4) to guide the development of road planning solutions and enhance long-term road transport planning within the broader Perth metropolitan area. This role involves:
- Leading and actively working on road planning studies from inception to completion across the Perth and Peel region.
- Initiating and managing network and traffic modelling, route concept optioneering, and innovating intersection and route corridor design in relation to future (long term) road planning.
- Preparing preliminary road designs and detailed route alignment studies.
- Building and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships.
- Actively guiding and participating in stakeholder consultation processes.
- Formulating plans for statutory protection of future road reservations.
- Contributing to contract and project management, including budgeting and resources scheduling.

Your Impact
Help us improve accessibility, mobility, and transport choices by planning our future road network. Develop road planning solutions that promote social equity, economic development, and sustainability. Enhance road safety and environmental quality through informed planning. Provide transport and traffic engineering advice to shape urban road networks and land use development. Collaborate with Transport and Major Infrastructure Portfolio partners by providing efficient and effective advice on complex and often inter-related transport projects and work closely with the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage on strategic and statutory decision-making.
About You:
We are looking for an experienced road planning professional with:
- Comprehensive knowledge of road transport planning and design.
- Specialist skills in modelling analysis, traffic and infrastructure engineering.
- Expertise in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
- Understanding of statutory land use planning and environmental processes.
