Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill this vacancy, it may also be used to appoint applicants, assessed as suitable during this selection process, to the same or other similar positions at CAHS for up to 12 months.   These can be permanent full time, permanent part time or fixed term full time, fixed term part time opportunities with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia offer support, advice and treatment to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years who are experiencing mental health challenges.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced clinical leader to provide operational and strategic management across designated CAMHS services. This role is responsible for the day‑to‑day coordination of clinical operations, workforce, finances and information systems, ensuring services are safe, effective and responsive to community needs.

Working both autonomously and in close collaboration with the CAMHS Leadership Team, you will lead service performance, manage demand and activity, and proactively identify, resolve and prevent operational and clinical issues. You will contribute to the broader strategic direction of CAMHS and the organisation, while ensuring delivery aligns with organisational values, policies and governance frameworks.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with strong professional credibility and clinical governance expertise.
  • Demonstrated senior‑level leadership experience within a complex health service environment, providing clinical, operational and strategic direction.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, including workforce planning, performance management and staff development.
  • Strong experience in managing financial and material resources within constrained budgets while maintaining service quality and safety.
  • Advanced analytical, conceptual and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and implement effective solutions.
  • Sound knowledge and practical application of human resource principles, including industrial, performance and change management.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and digital), enabling effective engagement with staff, executives and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, evidence‑based practice and continuous improvement, contributing to strategic outcomes and service performance.
