Your new
role
The Corporate Services
Directorate of the Department of Health is seeking to appoint a
motivated and dynamic Principal Project Officer.
You will be joining the
Business Strategy and Policy team that supports the department to
apply good governance principles, processes and practices that are
fit for purpose and that meet accountability obligations and
enables high level organisational performance.
The team consists of a
diverse skill mix and the work environment is dynamic with a strong
emphasis on teamwork, collective wisdom and collaboration to
achieve outcomes. Individually, we actively support each other and

This is a Permanent
Full Time appointment responsible for:
- Providing advice and
input into the development, implementation and monitoring of
strategy, policy, procedures, and guidelines that support the
functions of the Department, in accordance with its applicable
legislation.
- Leading
the development and production of public mandatory annual
compliance reports including the Department’s annual
report.
- Leading
and undertaking performance monitoring and reporting against
government outcomes and organisational outputs.
- Coordinating the
production and delivery of reports, business analytics and
insights to inform operational evidence-based decision
making.
- Supporting the
development and review of best practices, systems and processes
that ensure compliance with governance standards and
requirements.
What are we looking
for?
Ideal candidates for this
role will have:
- Strong
analytical and conceptual skills including proven ability to
apply appropriate research and analytical techniques to draw
conclusions and insights from data and information.
- Demonstrated substantial
experience managing projects and project management systems and
tools.
- Highly
developed oral and written communication skills, supporting the
provision of expert advice and information including
preparation of high-level reports, briefs, and business cases
to present complex information clearly, concisely and
effectively.
- Effective interpersonal
communication, negotiation and influencing skills to facilitate
co-operation and support and build stakeholder
relationships.
Experience in
corporate governance and reporting for government and/or policy
development, analysis and implementation is highly
desirable.
