Koorliny
Moort means “Walking with Families” in the language of the Noongar
Nation’s Whadjuk tribe,
the traditional owners of the land on which Perth
Children’s Hospital (PCH) is
located.
This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent
Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time and Fixed Term Part Time
appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or
permanency.

Position
Profile: We are looking for enthusiastic and
motivated Aboriginal Enrolled Nurses to join the Koorliny Moort
nursing team. Koorliny Moort offers fortnightly PCH clinics
and weekly paediatric outreach clinics delivered offsite across the
Perth metropolitan area. Working under the delegation and
supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Enrolled Nurse is response
for the delivery of compassionate, safe and evidence-based nursing
care on a day to day basis to Aboriginal patients and their
families using the Scope of Nursing Practice Decision Making
Framework.
The role will support the Clinical Nurse Specialist in achieving
the goals of the service as well as assisting in the delivery of
individualised Aboriginal patient care. The position holder will
assist with care coordination, assessment, advice and support to
Aboriginal children and their families and also promote cultural
awareness and support within the team and the organisation.
About Koorliny
Moort: The purpose of Koorliny Moort is:
- To improve ambulatory paediatric services for WA Aboriginal
children; especially the most vulnerable and ‘hard to reach’
children.
- To improve an Aboriginal child’s journey through paediatric
ambulatory care, providing choice, partnerships, coordination
and outreach services.
- To reduce unnecessary attendance at PCH and increase
engagement with families and their local health services.
