Rail Network Control: guiding every journey and keeping it on track.
About the role
As a Network Control Officer, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient movement of trains across the Public Transport Authority’s (PTA) urban rail network. Working within the-state-of-the-art Network Control Centre, you will operate at the heart of a fast‑paced, highly coordinated environment where your decisions directly impact operational safety, service delivery, and the customer experience.
You’ll be responsible for controlling rail traffic and managing network occupations to ensure services run to schedule and in accordance with the PTA’s Safe Working Rules, Procedures, and operational guidelines. You will continually prepare, monitor, review, and restore scheduled activities, ensuring that all movements across the network are conducted safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption.
About you
We’re seeking a collaborative and safety‑focused professional with proven capability in fast‑paced operational environments. You will bring:
- Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills, enabling you to work seamlessly across departments to support safe, reliable rail operations.
- Proactive problem‑solving and sound decision‑making, with the ability to anticipate issues, respond decisively to unexpected events, and manage conflict with tact and professionalism.
- A deep commitment to operational safety and exceptional passenger service, supported by a team‑oriented approach that fosters a positive, high‑performance operational culture.
- Experience in people or transport movement, incident response, or safety‑critical operations, gained within industries such as transport, aviation, emergency services, defence, mining, maritime, logistics, utilities, or large‑scale event operations.
- Resilience and flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and unsociable hours, with reliable transport to attend duties outside standard public transport operating times.
This is a role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, remains calm under pressure, and is committed to upholding the highest standards of safety and service across one of the state’s most critical transport networks.
