About Us

Westport is a transformational program that offers a rare opportunity for progressive and impactful large-scale infrastructure planning. Part of the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure, the Westport Office is responsible for delivering a diverse program of works that will:

  • Scale up WA’s trade capabilities for the next century.
  • Enable larger, more efficient vessels that Fremantle Port cannot accommodate.
  • Increase the share of rail freight, reducing road congestion and emissions.
  • Include an innovative port design informed by marine environmental science.

The Opportunity:

Westport are seeking a dynamic and forward‑thinking Program Delivery Manager - Facilitation to lead one of the Program’s most strategically important workstreams. This is a rare chance to contribute to a once‑in‑a‑century infrastructure initiative that will redefine WA’s freight future. In this role, you will sit at the heart of a transformational, multi‑decade program – shaping how Westport brings together strategic planning for category management and supply chain readiness, including alignment with critical industry stakeholders, land assembly, design quality frameworks, approvals and compliance programs, to deliver a world‑class container port and integrated logistics network.

You will guide the facilitation and alignment of critical cross‑program components - ensuring Westport’s projects, partners and stakeholders work together seamlessly to deliver best‑for‑program outcomes - Your leadership will be key in enabling Westport to move confidently from planning into delivery.

This is an opportunity to influence at the highest levels across industry and government, lead multidisciplinary teams, and help chart the direction of one of WA’s most significant infrastructure programs. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring Westport has the land, supply chain capacity, approvals and strategic partnerships needed to successfully deliver the port of the future.

Your impact will be through:

  • Leading a key program workstream that drives strategic facilitation to enable Westport’s transition from planning into delivery.
  • Strengthening collaboration across government, industry and delivery partners, leading interfacing processes to ensure alignment, integrated outcomes and coordinated program‑wide decision‑making.
  • Guiding strategic supply chain planning, including leveraging Westport’s scale to secure critical materials, equipment and workforce capacity in a competitive delivery environment.
  • Overseeing land assembly, approvals and compliance activities, ensuring regulatory requirements, schedule expectations and stakeholder commitments are met across the program.
  • Providing strong leadership to multidisciplinary teams and consultants, ensuring robust business cases, implementing effective governance, proactive risk management and high‑quality technical and design outcomes.

 What sets you apart:

  • Proven experience and expertise in strategic supply chain planning or managing supply chain‑focused programs within major infrastructure initiatives.
  • Substantial project management experience delivering complex projects or workstreams across the full project lifecycle.
  • Highly developed strategic thinking, problem‑solving and decision‑making capability, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and integrate multiple technical workstreams.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability that inspires direction, drives outcomes and aligns teams to strategic objectives.
  • Experience leading facilitation processes that support the delivery of complex projects or programs (desirable).
  • Understanding of government processes, particularly the development of large, complex business cases (desirable).
  • Experience managing contracts, contractors and consultants in major infrastructure environments (desirable).

There is currently one (1) full time, fixed term appointment contract up to 30 June 2028 with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency available for immediate start.
