The Department of Housing and Works delivers and maintains essential social housing and critical infrastructure across Western Australia—including schools, hospitals and police facilities.

We manage tenancy services, support housing provision in remote Aboriginal communities, and oversee government employee accommodation.

About The Role:

The Manager Business Data and Intelligence leads an integrated team responsible for delivering end-to-end business, data and intelligence solutions that enable evidence-based decision-making, enhance organisational performance, and support whole-of-government objectives. This role oversees business engagement, requirements analysis, technical solution design, data modelling, dashboard and report development, and the adoption of date-driven insights. The Manager fosters a culture of innovation, flexible delivery, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with governance and quality standards.

About You:

You are a professional with experience leading and managing teams in a hybrid or service based operating environment, engaging with business users and other leaders to gather and manage business requirements and deliver data solutions that support operational success and strategic goals. You bring experience facilitating workshops, highly developed knowledge of contemporary data analytics and management technologies and methodologies, and experience designing or overseeing the design of dashboards and reports using contemporary tools. You also demonstrate  a strong understanding of contemporary data management technologies and are confident leading and managing the end-to-end processes involved. With strong communication skills and project or change management experience, you will lead by example in a values-led culture with a focus on continuous improvement.  

This position operates in the context of Leading Others. This means that you will motivate and enable others to deliver high quality work. You will balance time between doing the work and coaching, guiding and developing others. This requires a significant shift in thinking from ‘doing’ to supporting others to ‘do good work’; and consideration of present and future needs when allocating time to the team and projects you lead. You will articulate how work is to be done, providing clear direction and feedback.
