About the Role 

We are seeking two (2) professional and experienced Traffic Engineers to provide traffic engineering and traffic management advice to internal stakeholders at Main Roads, as well as external agencies, consultants, and industry partners.

In this role, you will be supported by a Senior Traffic Engineering Designer or Senior Traffic Engineer, enabling you to develop and showcase your technical capabilities.

You will contribute to the development of technical standards and guidelines relating to traffic engineering, traffic management, and road safety. You will also provide traffic engineering and traffic management input to design projects and review traffic engineering components as part of formal road safety advice.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or Traffic/ Transportation Engineering (mandatory)
  • Considerable experience in traffic engineering and traffic management standards, products, practices and processes.
  • Experience using traffic engineering analysis methodologies and software, such as SIDRA Intersection.
  • A strong background in research, analysis, and problem solving, including the application of traffic engineering and management standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and technical report writing skills
  • The ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
