Position
Profile:
As a Senior Investigator,
you will be part of a highly skilled team that directly supports
the WA Government’s efforts to crack down on the illegal tobacco
trade and help keep the community safe.
These are new positions
designed to expand Western Australia’s intelligence and enforcement
capacity and boost resources on the ground to perform more
inspections across the State.
Successful applicants will
have extensive experience in an investigative and/or regulatory
role, specifically with respect to statutory investigations and
enforcement, including the ability to identify and mitigate against
risk. Senior Investigators work at the frontline of the WA
Government’s work to stamp out the sale and distribution of illegal
tobacco products and enforce compliance with Western Australia’s
tobacco control legislation. This includes planning and operational
implementation of investigative, compliance and audit functions and
activities in relation to the lawful use and supply of tobacco
products.
Senior Investigators work
closely with the WA Police and applicants with law enforcement
experience are encouraged to apply.
Applicants with relevant
tertiary qualifications; knowledge and understanding of tobacco
control legislation and/or public health policy on nicotine,
smoking, e-cigarettes and vapes; or a Certificate IV in Government
Investigations (or equivalent) are also desirable.
Some regional travel will be
required for some positions.

positions of trust and responsibility. WA Health policies require
applicants to undertake a criminal records screening and integrity
checking as part of the appointment process. As well as undertaking
a criminal record screening and integrity checking, you may also be

for the role) and a pre-employment health assessment. We may ask
referees to comment on your integrity and past demonstration of
ethical behaviour. Please note that adverse information does not
necessarily disqualify an applicant but will be considered as part
of the appointment process.
