This is a Recruitment Pool
for Permanent and Fixed Term Full Time and Part Time appointments
with the possibility of extension(s) and /or permanency.
We currently have one 3
month fixed term appointment available with the strong possibility
of extension(s) and/or permanency, and one 12 month fixed term
appointment available with the possibility of extension and/or
permanency.
Suitable applicants will be
placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar
vacancies occur.
Position
Profile: The Information and System Performance
Directorate (ISPD) in the Department of Health is seeking an
experienced person for role of Data Engineer – Data Linkage within
the Data Linkage team of the Data and Information Systems business
unit. As a Data Engineer in the Data Linkage team you
will:
- Work
directly with population-wide data in the day-to-day operations
of the WA Data Linkage System (WADLS), including processing
and linking large, complex datasets.
- Contribute to the
continuous improvement cycle of WADLS and growing the number of
datasets available to researchers through the Department of
Health’s established data linkage infrastructure.
-
Support
the development of state and national linkage initiatives
such as:
- PeopleWA - a
collection of de-identified WA public sector datasets
operationally managed by Department of the Premier and
Cabinet’s Office of Digital Government, and
- The Australian
National Data Integration Infrastructure (ANDII) and
National Disability Data Asset (NDA) - a proposed
integrated data resource comprising linked data from
all Australian governments, including Commonwealth
data.
This position would suit
someone who:
- Has a
proven track record of effectively managing, organising,
preparing, and/or analysing data
- Has a
genuine interest in data linkage methodologies and a desire to
develop expertise in this area
- Recognizes and champions
the critical role of high-quality data in driving robust and
reliable research outcomes.
- Thrives
on building and nurturing stakeholder relationships
- Communicates effectively
and can collaborate seamlessly with colleagues, clients and
partners
- Enjoys a
balance of team-based and autonomous work.
Prior experience in
Data Linkage is not required. Interested
