This is a Permanent Full-Time appointment.

What is our Senior Pharmacist role?

The successful applicant will work as the NSQHS Standards Medication Safety Standard 4 lead to optimise patient safety through the design and implementation of medication safety initiatives throughout SCGOPHCG. This includes:

  • Leading and participating in the in the development of policies, procedures and guidelines in line with NSQHS Medication Safety Standard 4, undertaking audits to assess compliance with guidelines and design, develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to uphold quality use of medicine principles.
  • Ensuring practice is in accordance with the Pharmacy Board of Australia Registration Standards, the Pharmacy Board of Australia Codes and Guidelines including the Pharmacy Code of Conduct for Registered Health Practitioners, and NMHS policies and guidelines.

SCGH is one of Australia's leading teaching tertiary hospitals. Located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre 4km from Perth city centre, SCGH provides a comprehensive range of clinical services including trauma, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, general medicine, general surgery, and cardiac care. It is home to WA's only comprehensive cancer centre - the largest cancer treatment centre in the State - and is the State's principal hospital for neurosurgery and liver transplants.

Eligibility to Apply: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent positions in the public sector. To be eligible for a fixed term appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract.
