About the Role

The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking a proactive and detail‑focused Risk and Emergency Management Support Officer to join the Transperth Train Operations (TTO) division. Based at Perth Station and reporting to the Safety Manager, this role provides essential support in delivering effective risk, safety and emergency management services across the Division, contributing to the safety of employees, passengers, contractors and the general public.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the identification, assessment and administration of risk and emergency management matters, including monitoring compliance with corporate requirements.
  • Supporting the Risk and Emergency Management Coordinators by providing timely advice, preparing documentation and contributing to WHS meetings, risk workshops and emergency exercise planning.
  • Administering and maintaining key systems and documentation, including updates to the Emergency Management Manual, accurate record keeping in Objective, and data management in SAI360.
  • Preparing reports, minutes, agendas and other administrative materials, and contributing to the development of policies, processes and procedures within the Safety, Risk and Emergency Management branch.
  • Providing general operational and administrative support, including assisting with the Division’s drug and alcohol testing regime and completing other duties as required.

  • A solid understanding of rail and safety legislation and risk management practices to support safe and compliant operations.
  • Working knowledge of the emergency management practices and application in preparedness and response activities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear advice and work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify issues and implement practical solutions.
  • Effective organisational and computer skills, with accuracy, attention to detail and experience using systems such as Objective, SAI360 and WebEOC.
