The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic leader to join our Vehicle Compliance team as a Vehicle Compliance Team Leader.
In this role, you will lead and develop a team of Vehicle Compliance Officers, providing direction, guidance and support to ensure high‑quality and consistent regulatory and audit outcomes. You will demonstrate strong leadership capability, including experience in leading and mentoring audit teams, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Reporting to the Compliance Services Manager, you will coordinate and conduct complex compliance audits, assess the performance of internal and external providers, and make informed recommendations for regulatory or operational intervention as required.
To be successful, you will bring demonstrated experience in applying legislation within a regulatory environment, coupled with well‑developed analytical, research and investigative skills. Excellent written communication skills are essential, including the ability to prepare high‑level audit reports, submissions and evidence‑based recommendations.

- Lead, mentor and coach a team of Vehicle Compliance Officers.
- Provide feedback, clarify expectations and support staff development.

- Coordinate and undertake compliance audits across WA.
- Audit the performance of internal and external providers, making recommendations where necessary.
- Ensure adherence to legislation, Australian Design Rules and Vehicle Safety Standards.
- Encourage innovative thinking and continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Identify opportunities to enhance compliance processes and customer outcomes.
Essential
- Trade qualifications as a motor mechanic (or equivalent) with broad automotive experience.
- Experience applying legislation and conducting compliance audits within a regulatory environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring audit teams.
- Strong conceptual, analytical, research and investigative skills.
- Excellent written communication skills, including preparation of high‑level reports and submissions.
- Current WA C‑class driver licence and ability/willingness to obtain motorcycle and heavy vehicle licence classes.
- Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to work respectfully with diverse communities.
- Sound knowledge of vehicle regulations and registration/licensing policies and processes.
