The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is a critical participant in the administration of justice within Western Australia, providing an independent and effective criminal prosecution service and confiscation practice.
The ODPP is seeking an experienced Management Accountant who excels in business partnering and clear, influential communication. A key focus of the role is translating complex financial information into concise, easy‑to‑understand insights for senior management, executives and external stakeholders, including ministerial offices. The position plays a central role in managing internal budgets effectively through supporting business areas to plan, develop and monitor their budgets while ensuring financial information is accurate, timely and meaningful.

Working collaboratively across the ODPP and with the Department of Treasury and Finance, the role provides high‑quality reporting, forecasts and strategic advice that informs organisational priorities and strengthens financial decision‑making.
To be successful in this role, applicants will need to demonstrate:
- Experience in undertaking effective end-to-end management accounting functions in a medium sized entity, particularly internal budgeting responsibility where employee benefits is the predominant expense category. In addition, this this includes the effective relationship management with a central Treasury function.
- Strong business partnering capabilities to provide high quality financial and performance information, often in plain English, to non-financial internal and external stakeholders, including executives and ministerial offices.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in utilising the Financial Management Information Systems, to design and deploy customised reports to enhance budget management, models and forecasting to support organisational outcomes.
- Ability to work within a small, multidisciplinary team which requires role-appropriate operational financial processes such as payment certification, journal preparation and posting, and financial policy execution.
Whilst there is one immediate position available, suitable applicants will be placed in a recruitment pool. This pool will run for a period of twelve months and may be used to fill other similar permanent full time and part time vacancies if they arise and subject to business needs
