Overview of the
Role:
As a Clinical Nurse Manager
– After Hours, you will play an integral role in coordinating and
managing both human and material resources to ensure exceptional
patient care across our hospital. Your responsibilities will
include overseeing bed management, deploying staff based on
clinical activity, and acting as a vital resource during
out-of-hours operations. You will be at the forefront of clinical
governance, leading change initiatives and supporting your team in
navigating the complexities of healthcare delivery.
Our ideal candidate
will have:
- Extensive
post-registration experience across a range of clinical
areas.
- High-level communication
skills, particularly in written reports and
submissions.
- Strong
interpersonal skills, with demonstrated abilities in
negotiation and mediation.

problem-solving capabilities.

Key
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate bed
management throughout the hospital and assess clinical activity
to deploy staff as required.
- Act as
an after-hours resource person, responding to sick calls and
authorising overtime in consultation with Clinical Nurse
Managers.
- Assume
control during emergencies until senior staff are
available.
- Participate in clinical
governance activities, including policy development and
planning.
- Conduct
preliminary investigations regarding patient incidents and
security breaches.
This position is located at
the Kalgoorlie Health Campus.
Kalgoorlie is Australia’s largest Outback city where mining,
history and bushland combine, located 595 km east-northeast of
Perth.

Profile
The Goldfields region of the
WA Country Health Service covers the Goldfields-Esperance Region of
Western Australia. The region is located in the south eastern
corner of Western Australia and covers 770,488 sq km (including
offshore islands). The WA Country Health Service Goldfields
consists of two main health campuses located in Kalgoorlie &
Esperance, and three smaller hospitals located in Laverton,
Leonora, and Norseman. The Goldfields is a culturally rich region
with a number of Aboriginal communities spread out across the
region, 16 distinct Aboriginal language groups and an Aboriginal
population that represents 12.3 per cent of our total population,
with 1 in 10 people, on average, identifying as Aboriginal – this
in comparison to the state average of 3.6 per cent. The region
supports a wide range of industry, including mining, agriculture,
aquaculture, and tourism. Mining is the predominant sector in the
central and northern parts of the region, with a well-established
agricultural sector in the south.
