Senior Data Development & Training Analyst

POSITION OBJECTIVE

This position leads the design, development and implementation of data literacy programs across the agency, including training, adoption strategies, and readiness programs, communication and engagement to facilitate agency-wide data capability uplift.  Works across a variety of different business areas to support delivery of operational and tactical outcomes of the Western Australia Police Force, in particular utilising data capabilities to help the WA Police Force solve crime faster and keep the community safe.

SPECIALIST PRE-REQUISITE

It is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining and maintaining a NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 2 security clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to hold and maintain the NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 2 security clearance. Any applicants who are currently not an Australian Citizen must be aware that this is an essential requirement to fulfil this position (please refer to the attached position description). Whilst there is nothing to preclude applicants from applying for the position if they have not yet been granted Australian Citizenship, applicants who are successful should be aware that they cannot be appointed unless they are in the process of applying for Australian Citizenship and are eligible to become an Australian Citizen prior to appointment.

Applicants are asked to address the following nominated work related requirements in no more than one (1) page:

  1. Research, analytical and problem-solving skills - Undertaking complex research, gathering information and undertaking detailed analysis. Relating data/information from various stakeholders and systems to undertake analysis in order to support decision making.  Being proactive in identifying trends, patterns, issues and causative factors.
  2. Communication skills - Liaising, consulting and negotiating with a range of stakeholders in a variety of contexts.

Applicants are also required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills and experience and qualifications relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.

The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.

OTHER CONDITIONS

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout the metropolitan area. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial date of the appointment.

Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for a position is not a current WA Police Force employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to these positions may be the responsibility of the successful applicants.
