About the Role

The Health Information and Administrative Service (HIAS) is seeking Clerical Supervisors (Afterhours shifts) to join the team at the Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH) to maintain the efficient operation of afterhours services in the Emergency Department, Enquiries, Inpatient Wards, Patient Master Index (PMI), Outpatient clinics and Medical Records department.

In this role, you will

  • Supervise and assist with the daily operations of HIAS afterhours clerical staff and functions, ensuring the confidentiality and security of health information in accordance with legislative requirements,
  • Receive and resolve staffing and workplace issues that arise on afterhours shifts,
  • Provide professional and technical advice on procedures and processes to support efficient delivery of patient information systems and customer focused services,
  • Provide operational support to Patient Administration Systems (PAS) users
  • Liaise regularly with HIAS Coordinators to outline departmental and staffing issues and provide comprehensive daily handovers.
  • Undertake the roles of Emergency Department Clerk, Ward Clerk, Enquiries Clerk and PMI Clerk in periods of necessity.

Permanent, fixed term (temporary) full-time, part-time and casual positions are available, with shift times as below. You will be asked to confirm your availability for shift work as part of your application.

  • Monday to Sunday 3pm to 11.06pm or
  • Saturday and Sunday 7am to 3.06pm or
  • Casual shifts

Flexibility to cover shifts at other times will be highly regarded in order to support team members.

*Please note on commencement in the role you will be asked to undertake training. Training will be offered in a block, which may be different to the shift you have selected.
