Position Profile

We are looking for a candidate with well-developed skills in financial administration, managing transactions efficiently and working in accordance with relevant accounting standards.  

The Finance Officer is an important part of our business, processing accounts payable and long service leave claim payments to construction workers. The Finance Officer also oversees accounts receivable and contacts employers about outstanding invoices. The role supports the Accountant and the business by providing timely advice and delivering an efficient transaction service. At times the Finance Officer is asked for their input on system and business process improvements.

Success in the role requires a high level of numeracy skills, good attention to detail, good communication skills and the ability to organise and manage work independently. 

This role is busy but there is a strong leadership culture which supports our employees having a healthy work life balance. We also offer secure employment in a professional environment.

Eligibility

To be eligible for permanent appointment, it is essential to have Australian citizenship or Australian Permanent residency status.

Please note, this is a position of trust, and you will be required to provide a National Police Certificate upon offer of employment.

  • Four to six years experience working in a finance environment.
  • Demonstrated previous experience with a financial management information system and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Good communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to provide high quality customer service and the ability to successfully negotiate outcomes relating to financial transactions and administration
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise workload whilst maintaining attention to detail.
