the Role

the agency operates efficiently, is compliant and has the right
people, systems and processes to meet strategic goals.
We have one
permanent, full time (75hrs p/f) position
available.
Are you an experienced
enthusiastic finance and accounting professional looking for your
next leadership opportunity to further your career? A great
opportunity exists to join a vibrant and enthusiastic team of
finance professionals.
In this role you will be
responsible for the finance business partnering with one (or more)
of DEED’s operating groups; delivering financial advice and
supporting strategic management of the finance functions. You will
play a key role in providing expert financial advice to the
Department’s Committees, management and external bodies and have
experience communicating at the Deputy Director General level or
equivalent. Additionally, you will assist in the preparation of
budgets that shape our financial strategies, and collaborate
closely with various business areas offering high-quality,
customer-focused management accounting services that ensure our
financial health and growth.
The role helps build
organisational and performance capabilities across the Department
by designing and monitoring financial planning, internal budgeting
and reporting solutions. The role delivers on the management of,
and performance against, the internal budget, including salary and
capital expenditure and revenues, and the generation of data driven
reports and insights. Collaborating across the Department, the role
aims to build a culture of high performance, accountability,
responsibility and capability.
The successful applicant
should possess managerial experience in a financial management
environment and working knowledge of relevant legislation,
instructions and processes relating to government finance and
administration including the Financial Management Act.
