The Opportunity

As Director Organisational Development and Wellbeing, you will lead the design and delivery of innovative strategies that build organisational capability, foster a high-performing culture, and champion employee wellbeing and safety. This senior leadership role is pivotal in shaping the Department’s future readiness through organisational transformation and strategic workforce planning.

You will provide thought leadership in organisational development, change management, and capability building, leveraging data-driven insights and contemporary methodologies to enable adaptability and resilience across the workforce. Partnering with executives and senior leaders, you will embed integrated solutions that align with DTMI’s strategic plan, ensuring sustainable outcomes and a culture of inclusion, safety, and wellbeing.

The Team

You’ll lead a high-performing Organisational Development and Wellbeing Branch, within People and Culture, that brings together expertise in organisational design, change management, workforce health and safety, and strategic project delivery. This team is passionate about innovation, collaboration, and creating a culture that empowers our people. You’ll have the opportunity to influence, mentor, and inspire across multiple disciplines to deliver meaningful change.

About you

You are an experienced and strategic leader who thrives in complex environments and is passionate about driving organisational transformation. You bring:

  • Proven experience leading and managing strategic change in large, multi-disciplinary organisations.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with senior leaders to align workforce strategies with business priorities.
  • Expertise in organisational development and delivering innovative change initiatives that achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Commitment to employee wellbeing and safety, with understanding of Work Health & Safety principles and governance frameworks that support resilience and sustainability.
  • Knowledge of diversity and inclusion strategies, fostering a culture that values equity and belonging across DTMI.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of fostering high-performing, collaborative teams.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate issues and mitigate risks.
