The Opportunity
As part of the Memorial Services Team, you will be at the
heart of the Metropolitan Cemeteries Board (MCB), helping
families honour and celebrate the lives of their loved ones.
In your role as a Memorial Services
Officer, you will be responsible for preparing memorial
sites and coordinating the placement of plaques, memorial bases and
ashes in assigned locations. You will also conduct memorial and
ashes placement ceremonies with families in attendance, ensuring
each service is delivered with dignity, respect, and in accordance
with the wishes of the customer.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
- Deliver exceptional customer service in line with MCB’s
values, ensuring every interaction is respectful, empathetic,
and supportive.
- Respond to customer enquiries about MCB services, products,
policies, and regulations with clear and helpful
information
- Prepare urns and documents for the collection of ashes,
ensuring accuracy and respectful handling.
- Check memorial plaques against orders and invoices to
ensure they are correct and of quality before placement.
- Maintain accurate records using the Cemetery Records
System, ensuring all data is up-to-date and compliant with
regulatory standards.
- Prepare memorial sites by performing manual tasks,
including digging, using tools and manual handling in an
outdoor environment.
This position is primarily based at our Fremantle Cemetery
Monday to Friday; however, you may be required to work across other
sites as needed. The role includes fortnightly rostered
Saturday work, in which Toil or overtime will be applied.

- Experience in handling sensitive situations with

- Sound computer literacy skills and a high level of
attention to detail.
