We have an opportunity for an experience Lecturer in Automotive to join our team on a permanent basis. This role has the flexibility to be either full-time or part-time.

About the role
The lecturer’s primary role is to teach, facilitate learning, assess and mentor students in accordance with relevant curriculum and/or training package requirements. Lecturers also undertake Professional Activities and Activities Related to Delivery. In order to maintain quality educational services, lecturers are required to keep abreast of technological and other developments in their field through professional development to provide up-to-date information and advice to the College and industry, where appropriate.
At South Regional TAFE’s Esperance campus, the Automotive Lecturer plays a key role in developing the next generation of skilled professionals. This position involves training and mentoring both new and existing apprentices across the light and heavy vehicle sectors, as well as engaging with school-aged students through pre-apprenticeship program.

Relevant Qualification and Experience
To be eligible for employment applicants must hold either of the below qualifications or equivalent and have a minimum of 5 years working in the area of expertise.
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
- Certificate III in Agricultural Mechanical Technology
There is a minimum qualification required to deliver accredited vocational education and training (VET) as defined by the Registration Standards 2025 (2025 Standards), or its successors. The current minimum qualification required is the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116, or TAE40110), or a secondary teaching qualification with an Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00011, TAESS00019, or TAESS00024).
Applicants who do not yet hold the minimum required VET credentials are still eligible to apply, however South Regional TAFE will require the successful candidate to be enrolled, and have commenced training in, an approved training and assessment credential and record satisfactory progress to enable the credential to be completed within two years from commencement.

Other Conditions and Eligibility
Eligibility for employment is subject to obtaining a satisfactory Department of Education Criminal Clearance. If this position involves contact with children, the recommended occupant will also be required to obtain a Working with Children (WWC) Card.
