community? Join us as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Mental Health
Triage at the Western Australian Country Health Service, where you

will provide and facilitate the delivery of evidence-based mental
health services to clients, including conducting triage assessments
and developing acute management plans. Your expertise will allow
you to make informed clinical decisions and collaborate effectively

The ideal candidate will
possess:
- Extensive experience in the mental health
field, with a strong background in community mental health
practice.
- Demonstrated ability to assess complex
presentations and provide evidence-based interventions for
various mental health disorders.
- Sound knowledge of the current practices
in mental health services, including familiarity with the
Mental Health Act (1996, WA).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the
capability to develop and implement comprehensive management
plans for clients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills, essential for effective collaboration with a
multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in workplace leadership and
the ability to foster an inclusive working
environment.
Key responsibilities of the role
include:
- Conducting comprehensive mental health
triage assessments across various settings.
- Developing acute management plans and
providing clinical case management for complex
cases.
- Administering medication and ensuring
high standards of care are met.
- Building and maintaining clinical liaison
networks with a range of health services and community
organisations.
- Providing educational activities and
programmes for clients, families, and health service
staff.

Area Profile
The Goldfields region of the WA Country
Health Service covers the Goldfields-Esperance Region of Western
Australia. The region is located in the south eastern corner of
Western Australia and covers 770,488 sq km (including offshore
islands). The WA Country Health Service Goldfields consists of two
main health campuses located in Kalgoorlie & Esperance, and three
smaller hospitals located in Laverton, Leonora, and Norseman. The
Goldfields is a culturally rich region with a number of Aboriginal
communities spread out across the region, 16 distinct Aboriginal
language groups and an Aboriginal population that represents 12.3
per cent of our total population, with 1 in 10 people, on average,
identifying as Aboriginal – this in comparison to the state average
of 3.6 per cent. The region supports a wide range of industry,
including mining, agriculture, aquaculture, and tourism. Mining is
the predominant sector in the central and northern parts of the
region, with a well-established agricultural sector in the
south.
