This is for a Fixed Term
Full Time appointment at 80 hours per fortnight until 01/06/2026,
with the possibility of permanency.
WACHS is seeking a
dedicated and experienced Clinical Nurse Manager for our Aged Care
services in Carnarvon. This pivotal role involves managing
both nursing and unregulated healthcare staff, ensuring the highest
standards of aged care practice, and optimising the use of
resources to provide safe and cost-effective residential and
community nursing care.
Carnarvon, WA, is a coastal town
about 900 km north of Perth, nestled between the Indian Ocean and
the Gascoyne River. Known as the food bowl of Western
Australia for its tropical produce like bananas and
mangoes. The town has a semi-arid climate, with
warm winters and hot summers. Carnarvon is rich in
Indigenous and maritime history, with attractions
like the Carnarvon Space and Technology Museum.
Outdoor enthusiasts can explore
Quobba Station, famous for its rugged coastline
and blowholes, or venture inland to the Kennedy Range
National Park for hiking and camping. The Coral
Coast location also makes Carnarvon a gateway to
Ningaloo Reef and nearby marine adventures.
Carnarvon does offer world class surf at Redbluff and Tombstones -3
mile (just 2 hours away). And great fishing, Kite surfing and
spearfishing.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced clinical leadership and expertise to
support nursing teams and enhance the delivery of
evidence-based care.
- Implement and review clinical guidelines, protocols, and
standards to improve patient outcomes in residential aged care
settings.
- Coordinate quality improvement projects and manage the
performance development of nursing staff to ensure ongoing
high-quality care delivery.
- Oversee budget allocations, adjusting staffing levels in
response to patient needs while maintaining safety and
compliance within the care environment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address complex
care issues, ensuring effective problem-solving and advanced
health planning.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Must be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse
with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Proven clinical and leadership skills within residential
and community aged care.
- Strong experience managing human and material resources to
deliver high-quality, consumer-centred patient care.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict
resolution abilities.
- Competent in using technology for data management, internal
communications, and online training.
- Knowledge of legislative obligations impacting employment
and service delivery, including Equal Opportunity and
Occupational Safety and Health.
- A current C or C-A Class driver's licence is
essential.
