About the Role
VenuesWest is seeking casual Event Safety Officers to join our Venue Delivery team. Reporting to the Technical Operations Coordinator, the Event Safety Officer will support VenuesWest to deliver safe events by monitoring, reporting and providing guidance to workers involved in event activities including bump in and out and contributing to safety during an event.
This is a casual position working predominantly at Mount Claremont Perth High Performance Centre with the requirement to work across our other locations including Arena Joondalup, HBF Park, WA Athletics Stadium and Midvale Speed Dome. Hours of work will vary depending on event requirements which will include outside normal work hours, weekends and overnight shifts.

About the Person
The successful candidate will have a Certificate IV (or higher) in Workplace Health and Safety and a WA Construction Industry White Card. Experience in delivering safety services and contemporary understanding of WHS is also a requirement of this role.

- Demonstrated experience delivering safety services within event, sport, recreation, construction, hospitality or entertainment environments.
- Strong understanding of contemporary WHS practices and risk management, including contractor and high-risk work oversight.
- Applied knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, Codes of Practice and relevant standards.
- Proven ability to work autonomously, make informed safety decisions and intervene with authority when required.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including managing disputes, influencing stakeholders and directing stop-work actions when necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret risk controls, identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
