About the opportunity:
In this key role you will be responsible for managing both compulsory and voluntary land acquisitions in accordance with relevant State legislation. You will engage and instruct specialist consultants, negotiate with landowners, and liaise with legal advisers to ensure acquisitions are undertaken effectively and lawfully.
The role also requires facilitating meetings with landowners, providing expert land acquisition advice at project meetings, and overseeing the formal processes for registering Notices of Intention to Take Land and issuing Taking Orders under the Land Administration Act 1997.
Additional responsibilities include managing land acquisition budgets, including monthly forecasting, and contributing to the development and implementation of branch policies, procedures, and strategic frameworks for land acquisition.
About You
The successful applicant will possess the following skills and experience:
- Sound knowledge of processes involved in the acquisition of land in accordance with State legislation within a large and complex organisation.
- Demonstrated project and contract management experience.
- Strong research, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Well-developed negotiation and facilitation skills.
- The ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.

- A comprehensive CV demonstrating your relevant skills and abilities within the context of the Job Role Statement.
- A copy of your current WA ‘C’ class driver’s licence (or approved equivalent).
- A copy of your Degree in Commerce (Property Valuation) and a copy of your Certified Practising Valuer holding a current Land Valuers Licence or eligible to apply for a Land Values Licence (if applicable).
- A statement outlining your substantial skill, knowledge and experience in the following four (4) criteria in no more than four (4) pages:
- Demonstrated effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills leading to mutually acceptable outcomes.
- Processes involved in the acquisition of land in accordance with the relevant State legislation in a large and complex organisation.
- Project and/contract management.
- Developing, building and enhancing stakeholder relationships.

All selection criteria listed in the Job Role Statement will be tested throughout the selection process.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a National Police Clearance and pre-employment medical questionnaire as part of this recruitment process.
