About the Role
Tenure: This vacancy
is Fixed Term for 12 months.
Energy
Policy WA provides strategic policy advice on the operation,
performance and future direction of the State’s energy Government
Trading Enterprises. Working closely with Synergy, Western Power,
Horizon Power and central agencies, the GTE Oversight team supports
EPWA’s role in ensuring GTE activities align with State priorities
including decarbonisation, economic diversification, housing and
industry development.
As our
Principal Policy
Analyst in the GTE Oversight team, you will lead
the development of high‑quality, authoritative advice for the
Minister for Energy on energy GTE budget submissions, significant
transactions and initiatives, GTE governance, board appointments,
and key strategic and financial documents. You will drive processes
that support the effective oversight and delivery of initiatives
central to the energy transition and the core business of the
GTEs.
You will
undertake and guide in‑depth qualitative and quantitative analysis
to identify emerging energy policy issues, develop and evaluate
solutions, and prepare final‑quality submissions, briefing notes
and ministerial correspondence. You will build trusted
relationships across Government, industry and the community,
represent Energy Policy WA on committees and working groups, and
confidently articulate complex policy positions in senior‑level
discussions and negotiations.
As a senior
leader within the team, you will contribute insight to divisional
and organisational planning, mentor and develop staff, and foster a
collaborative, high‑performing environment. If you are ready to
